Day 04: Tizi Ouzou - 1 hour 15 minutes from Algiers Explore the city of Tizi Ouzou, located in the valley of Soummam. Start with a visit to The Tizi Ouzou Museum of Regional Studies, which explores the history and culture of the area. Then visit The Beni Yenni Village, a beautiful Berber village known for its traditional crafts and stunning views. End the day with a delicious meal at The Tizi Ouzou Kabyle . Day 05: Bejaia - 2 hours from Algiers Take a day trip to Bejaia, located east of Algiers by the Mediterranean Sea. Start with a visit to The Gouraya National Park, which features beautiful beaches, forests, and mountains. Then explore the old city center of Bejaia and visit The Bejaia Kasbah Museum, which tells the story of the city's history. End the day with a seafood dinner and a night walk along the beach promenade. Day 06: Djelfa- 3 hours from Algiers Head south to the city of Djelfa, known for its painted rock art sites. Then explore the old city of Ghardaia and visit The Ghardaia Museum of Local Art and Traditions, which displays traditional crafts and practices of the area. Day 14: Algiers -40 minutes (18 km) from Houari Boumediene Airport Return to Algiers and spend the last day exploring the city at your leisure. Alexandria's catacombs, known as Kom El Shoqafa, are a short distance southwest of the pillar, consist of a multi-level labyrinth, reached via a large spiral staircase and featuring dozens of chambers adorned with sculpted pillars, statues, and other syncretic Romano-Egyptian religious symbols, burial niches, and sarcophagi, as well as a large Roman-style banquet room, where memorial meals were conducted by relatives of the deceased. Continue your tour by visiting the prettiest and biggest mosque in the city: the Abbo Elabbas Mosque, as well as the memorial of the Unknown Soldier of Alexandria and the statue of Alexander the Great. You can then stop for lunch before visiting the church of St. Mark - the oldest church in Africa before driving along the Cornish (30 km) to see the whole city of Alexandria from the sea side which includes the old harbor of Alexandria where we found 7000 monuments underwater. Stop over the famous bridge of Stanley - the modern landmark of modern Alexandria, before visiting the old downtown of Alexandria and walking through the old city-center of Alexandria: built by Alexander the great. Sudan
Sudan,officially the Republic of the Sudan, is a country in Northeast Africa. It borders the Central African Republic to the southwest, Chad to the west, Egypt to the north, Eritrea to the northeast, Ethiopia to the southeast, Libya to the northwest, South Sudan to the south, and the Red Sea. It has a population of 45.7 million people as of 2022[21] and occupies 1,886,068 square kilometres, making it Africa's third-largest country by area and the third-largest by area in the Arab League. It was the largest country by area in Africa and the Arab League until the secession of South Sudan in 2011;since then both titles have been held by Algeria. Its capital and most populous city is Khartoum.
5 Days Tour in the heart of Sudan
Day 1:Khartoum - Old Dongola - Karima We start our tour by picking you up from Khartoum Airport or your hotel, followed by a trip to Old Dongola! In the northern Sudan, on the east bank of the Nile River, is Old Dongola, an ancient city of the ancient world. The city served as the capital of the Kingdom of Makuria which existed from the 6th to the 14th century. In modern times, Old Dongola is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a popular destination for tourists interested in the history of the ancient Nubians. During your visit to Old Dongola, you will have the opportunity to explore the ancient city as well as its ruins and landmarks. It is possible to visit the Makuria Palace, the Coptic Church, as well as the Temple of Amun. It is also possible to visit the Old Dongola Museum, which houses a collection of artifacts from the ancient city. Following the tour of old Dongola, you will travel to Karima. It is estimated that the travel time will be two hours and thirty minutes. You will be staying at the Nubian Rest House at the foot of Jebel Barkal. The house is a charming Nubian-style building, consisting of two rooms and six beds in total. There are shared facilities and a pleasant veranda on which you can enjoy the cool starry nights. Day 2: Jebel Barkal - El Kurru - Pyramids of Nuri - Karima In this tour, you travel through some of Sudan’s most impressive historical and archaeological sites on your way to Jebel Barkal from Karima. You can expect the following. In the first place, we will visit Jebel Barkal, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the town of Karima. There are several temples and pyramids on this mountain, which was considered a holy place by the ancient Egyptians. You will be able to explore the ruins of the temples and climb to the top of the mountain for a stunning view of the surrounding area. The next stop is El Kurru, a small village located near Jebel Barkal that is home to some fascinating ancient tombs. Several Nubian kings and queens are believed to have resting places in these tombs, which are decorated with beautiful carvings and paintings. Also on display are the remains of a small pyramid and a temple. Our third destination is the Pyramids of Nuri, which are located a short distance from El Kurru. It is believed that several kings and queens were buried in these pyramids built by the rulers of the Kingdom of Kush. The tour will offer you the opportunity to view several well-preserved pyramids and learn about their historical significance. After your trip, you will return to Karima, where you will have the opportunity to explore the local market and interact with the friendly locals. Stay at Nubian Rest House for the night. Day 3: Karima - Pyramids of Meroe Via Bayuda Desert Following breakfast early in the morning, an exciting and adventurous tour to Meroe will depart from Karima via the Bayuda Desert. The following is the itinerary for the trip. In order to reach Meroe, we must drive through the Bayuda Desert, an expansive, rugged landscape with rocky terrain and scattered vegetation. During your drive through the desert, you will be able to observe the local wildlife and enjoy the breathtaking scenery. You will pass through small villages that are inhabited by the Bayuda people along your journey. If you are lucky, you may even be invited to join them for tea or dinner by these friendly and hospitable people. After several hours of driving, you will finally arrive at the Pyramids of Meroe, one of Sudan’s most famous and impressive archaeological sites. The pyramids date back to the Kingdom of Kush, which ruled Sudan between the 8th and fourth centuries BC. Take the opportunity to explore the Pyramids of Meroe and learn about the history of the Kingdom of Kush while you are there. Several of the pyramids can be climbed to enjoy a breathtaking view of the landscape surrounding them. Spend the night at the Meroe camp site or in an outdoor tent. Day 4: Meroe - Naga and Mussawarat - Khartoum Visit the sites of Naga and Mussawarat in the morning, approximately one hour and thirty minutes of travel time from Meroe Pyramids. Naga is one of two centers that developed during the Meroitic period. In Naga, in a typical Saharan environment with rocks and sand, we discover a temple dedicated to Apedemak (1st century A.D.). This magnificent building is decorated with bas-reliefs that depict the god with a lion’s head, the Pharaoh, noblemen, and several ritual images. Several metres away is a small and curious structure with arches and columns, named “kiosk”, in which we can distinguish Egyptian, Roman, and Greek styles at the same time. Another temple dedicated to Amon is not far away, with many statues of rams and beautifully decorated gates. After that, we will continue to Mussawarat, not far from Naga. Settlements in this area are situated in beautiful valleys surrounded by hills. In this area, the ruins of a very large temple can be seen; it once played a very significant role in the community. One of its most notable features is the “Great Enclosure”, a complex of constructions and boundary walls surrounding a temple constructed during the 1st century A.D. These walls depict a large number of elephants that indicate this animal played a significant role in the area’s history. In the vicinity of the big wadi, there is another temple dedicated to Apedemak – restored by a German archaeological mission After an enjoyable day in Naga and Mussawarat, transfer to Khartoum is scheduled Approximately three hours are required to travel between Naga and Mussawarat and Khartoum. Day 5: Khartoum city tour & Surroundings Tour of Khartoum & Surroundings starting in the morning, including Khartoum city tour, Jabal Auliya, and Omdurman: Visit Jabal Auliya, a hill located approximately 15 km east of Khartoum, to begin your day. There are breathtaking views of the city and the Nile River from this location. There are two ways to reach the top of the hill: by car or on foot (if you are feeling adventurous). Next, proceed to Khartoum, the capital of Sudan, after enjoying the views from Jabal Auliya. To gain a deeper understanding of the country’s history and culture, visit the National Museum of Sudan. Afterwards, visit the Tuti Bridge to witness the confluence of the Blue and White Niles. After lunch, proceed to Omdurman, which is located just across the Nile from Khartoum. Visit the Omdurman Souq, one of Sudan’s largest and busiest markets. Among the items available here are a variety of traditional Sudanese goods, such as textiles, pottery, spices, and more. You will then visit one of the most important Sufi shrines in Sudan, the tomb of Sheikh Hamad Al Nil. Upon completion of your tour in Omdurman, you are free to return to your hotel or to the airport if you are departing Sudan.

Day01: Arrival in Luanda, Angola Upon arrival at Luanda’s Quatro de Fevereiro International Airport, you will be received by our DMC representative and transferred to Hotel for overnight. In the afternoon, enjoy a City Tour of Luanda Overnight stay at Luanda Day02 : Kisima National Park/Luanda After breakfast, drive south to Kissama National Park (75kms/1.5hrs) for a game viewing drive with picnic lunches. Kissama National Park is Angola’s principal National wildlife Park. Situated in western Angola 75kms south of Luanda the capital, this 12,000 km² park founded in 1938 as a hunting block was proclaimed a national park in 1957. Once home to an abundance of large African mammals, it was scene of the 2001 'Operation Noah's Ark', the largest wildlife translocation in history where hundreds of animals especially elephants were moved from overpopulated parks in neighboring Botswana and South Africa to the park after being decimated in the 25yr Angola Civil War. Today, Kissama is home to some of Africa’s most sought after wildlife including elephants, buffalo, hippos and crocodiles, giraffes, zebras, a variety of antelopes including the wildebeest and eland, wild boars, sea turtles on her 120kms coastline on the Atlantic as well as other terrestrial mammals all in a stunning baobab studded natural setting between the Atlantic Ocean, Cuanza River and the Longa River. Attractions include the Zebras, elephants, giraffes, antelopes, hippos, flamingos and other bird species, Turtles, etc. Return to Luanda overnight at Luanda. Day 03 :Luanda/Lubango After breakfast, transfer to the Luanda Domestic Airport for your flight to Lubango. On arrival at Lubango Airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred to Hotel overnight stay at Lubango. In the afternoon, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Lubango including Fendas de Tundavala, Serra de Leba, Cristo ReiMonumento, the Boca Humpata panoramic view point as well as colonial and religious historical sites. In the evening, you will go out to dinner at one of Lubango’s nice local restaurants mixing with local people.If time allows, enjoy night life in Lubango before returning to hotel for overnight. Day04 : Lubango/Namibe After breakfast, check out with picnic lunches and be driven to Namibe Province(1hr) for your Desert Tour; visit the Arco e Carvalhao Oasis, the giant Welwitchita as well as the rock paintings of Tchitundulo and meet the Mucubal Bushmen. You will then proceed to Flamingo Lodge, on the edge of the Atlantic, for dinner and overnight. Day o5 : Namibe Full day spent in Namibe enjoying the beach, the ocean and seaside tours including fishing. Breakfast, lunch and dinner and overnight at the resort Day06 : Namibe/Lubango/Luanda After a leisurely breakfast, you will check out with packed lunches and drive back to Lubango. Day 01: Arrival in Bujumbura Arrive in Bujumbura and transfer to hotel accommodation. The rest of the day is left at leisure to relax after your flight. Overnight at Club du Lac Tanganyika or similar. No meals nor guided arrangements included today. Bujumbura : Burundi’s capital lies at the north-eastern corner of Lake Tanganyika and, with an estimated population of 800,000, is Burundi's largest city and its administrative, communications, and economic centre. It is also Burundi's main port and ships most of the country's chief export, coffee, as well as cotton, skins, and tin ore. Bujumbura grew from a small village after it became a military post in German East Africa in 1889. After World War I it was made the administrative centre of the Belgian League of Nations mandate of Ruanda-Urundi. The city's name was changed from Usumbura to Bujumbura when Burundi became independent in 1962. The city centre is a colonial town with a large market, the national stadium, a large mosque, and the cathedral for the Archdiocese of Bujumbura. Day 2: Bujumbura Today, Rusizi National Park’s wetlands form an ideal habitat for hippos, water-adapted Sitatunga antelope, and a wide variety of birds. Taking a boat trip on the Rusizi River and Lake Tanganyika, there’s time to visit a nearby fishing village. Later, we explore a little-known and intriguing African capital. Learn about pre- and post-colonial history, and some of the challenges Burindi has faced. Later, we tour the suburb of Kinama, gaining insight into daily life. Overnight at Club du Lac Tanganyika or similar. Rusizi National Park Not far from Bujumubura itself, Rusizi National Park is centred on the Rusizi River and as such is home to a number of wetland species including Hippos and Sitatunga. An area of the park consists of the channels and islands of the Rusizi delta as it flows into Lake Tanganyika. Set aside as a protected area of 9000 hectares in 1980, today the park consists of less than 6000 hectares, due to population pressures in adjacent areas. Day 3: Bujumbura – Teza Tea Plantations- Kibira Nature Walk Today, we drive to Teza to see the tea plantations and observe one of the main products the country exports and Burundian tea production. Later we take a nature walk around Kibira National Park. In the afternoon, we drive back to Bujumbura. Overnight at Club du Lac Tanganyika or similar. Day 4: Ijenda - Rumonge – Resha Our first stop is ‘La Pierre de Livingstone et Stanley’, a stone monument claiming to mark the site where explorer Dr. David Livingstone met journalist Henry Morton Stanley, on 25th November 1871. At Rumonge there’s a first-hand opportunity to explore the increasingly contentious production of palm oil, before continuing to Resha for the night. Overnight at Tanganyika Blue Bay or similar. Day 5: Resha - Lake Tanganyika – Nyakuza – Karera – Gitega We continue to visit the southernmost source of the Nile in Rutovu near Rutana, only discovered in 1937. Continue to Visit the ‘Gorge of the Germans’ at Nyakazu before heading to the ‘Chutes de la Karera’, an impressive series of waterfalls said locally to have healing powers. Afterward, drive to the town of Gitega. Overnight at Hotel Tropitel or similar. Lake Tanganyika Part of the Rift Valley lake system, Lake Tanganyika is the longest freshwater lake in the world (420 miles) and extends into Burundi, Tanzania, Zambia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Numerous rivers flow into the lake, including the Rusizi, and in turn, it flows outwards into the Lukuga which forms part of the Congo Basin. It is home to around 400 different species of fish including many cichlid species which are found only here. It was first ‘discovered’ by the explorers Burton and Speke in 1858 during their search for the source of the Nile, and saw action during World War I when British and German forces engaged in gunboat battles on the lake. Day 6: Gitega – Kirundo The country’s largest city, since January 2019 Gitega is again Burundi’s official capital. We visit the National Museum, a rather down-at-heel institution that nonetheless houses the country’s largest historical and ethnographic collection – in one room... However, museums and political administration are not Gitega’s headline acts. That billing rests with the world-famous Gitega Drummers whose performance on the royal field of Gishora is a sight not to be missed. Later, we transfer to Kirundo for the night. In the evening, we will visit the Intore Warrior Dancers for a show. During the royal times, the Intore warriors defended the King and paraded in dance before the delighted people when returning from victory. The dancer wears the skin of a leopard and an elaborate headdress, bells on their ankles, and a necklace of ivory. Overnight at Rama Hotel or similar. Day 7: Kirundo - Bujumbura Today it’s an early start for a sunrise trip by dugout canoe on Le Lac aux Oiseaux in Lake Rwihinda National Reserve. After a picnic lunch, we drive back to Bujumbura for an overnight at Club du Lac Tanganyika. Day 8: Bujumbura - Airport - Departure from Burundi After breakfast, drive to the handcrafts market “Chez Natalie” to buy last-minute souvenirs for family and friends back home. Relax at the beach enjoy lunch then after, transfer to the airport for onward or homeward flights at the end of our Burundi tour.

Day 1 – Douala Arrive in Douala and transfer to your hotel. Overnight Sawa Hotel or similar. Day 2 – Ekom Falls – Melong Drive to the west of the country, stopping first at a busy fruit market around Penja. We then head to the impressive Ekom Falls, located in beautiful primary forest, then drive through the coffee plantations to Melong, a small farming town in the Cameroonian Highlands. Overnight Villa Kleber or similar. (BLD) Day 3 – Bandjoun – Bappit – Koutaba Drive through the lands of the Bamileke people, great artisans and agriculturalists and one of Cameroon’s largest ethnic groups. We stop in the Kingdom of Bandjoun, not far from the regional capital Bafoussam, and visit the palace. From Bandjoun we head to the Noun Valley and the picturesque crater lake of Bappit for great views of the surrounding area. Finally, we drive to Koutaba for the night. Overnight Paradise Hotel or similar. (BLD) Day 4 – FoumbanVisit Foumban, home of the Bamoun people. We explore the town and visit its art museum as well as the 19th-century royal palace. We also visit the central market, one of the most colourful in Cameroon, and walk through the artisans’ quarter. The Bamoun are great craftsmen, working with wood and bronze, and most of the pieces they create are exported overseas to collectors. Overnight Paradise Hotel or similar. Day 5 – Yaoundé Drive to Yaoundé, Cameroon’s capital. We visit the excellent African art museum, located in the Benedictine monastery atop Mount Febe and with a superb collection of carvings and artefacts from some of the ethnic groups we have just encountered. Later we head to the train station to take the overnight train to Ngaoundere, the gateway to the north of the country. Day 6 – Ngaoundere Arrive in Ngaoundere, the gateway to the north of the country and the capital of Adamawa Province. The city retains a medieval atmosphere and we visit the palace of the Lamido (sultan) and the local market. Overnight Adamawa Hotel or similar. Day 7 – Poli From Ngaoundere we descend into the Benoue Valley and enter a different world – the modern villages disappear to be replaced by traditional adobe settlements, and we arrive in Poli, the capital of the kingdom of Faro, in the afternoon. Overnight Bukaru Camp. Day 8 - Poli We visit the Mbororo people, one of West Africa’s most traditional groups and with a lifestyle based around cattle. The Mbororo still practice the custom of facial tattooing and live semi-nomadic lives, following their livestock to pasture. We also visit Kongle, centre of the animistic Dowayo people. Overnight Bukaru Camp. Day 9 - Vokre Mountains Continue our journey and head to one of Cameroon’s most isolated and unexplored areas, the Vokre Mountains. We walk through millet fields and streams and make our way on foot to a small village belonging to the Dupa people, where we camp for the night. This is a great way to immerse ourselves in the culture of this fascinating ethnic group. Day 10 - Vokre Mountains Explore the lands of the Dupa, a deeply traditional and animist group who make their living from agriculture and hunting. Many still wear traditional dress – for the men this is a loincloth and for the women, skirts made from leaves – modernity has made few inroads here and this is a unique opportunity to see a culture that has changed little for centuries. The Dupa are incredibly hospitable and we can expect to be welcomed into their villages – if we are lucky we may witness a traditional ceremony or celebration. There are no roads in this part of Cameroon and we explore on foot. Overnight camping. Day 11 - Poli Reluctantly we bid our hosts farewell and return to Poli, hiking back down the mountains to meet our vehicles. On the way we stop in a traditional sultanate where we should be able to meet the sultan and learn about the challenges of life in this area. Overnight Bukaru Camp. Day 12 - Mbe – Ngaoundere We drive back to Ngaoundere. On the way we stop at local villages and markets, meeting the various different ethnic groups that live in this region. Arrive in Ngaoundere and board the overnight train for the journey back south. Day 13 - Yaounde Arrive in Yaoundé this morning. After breakfast explore the city with visits to the Solomon Muna Foundation and a traditional art shop, among other sites. In the afternoon there will be free time to freshen up and get ready for the journey home.
Central African Republic
Highlights of Dzangha Sangha tour
Day 1 The tour begins in Bangui, the capital of the Central African Republic, where you will be met at the airport and transferred to your charter flight and head down to Dzanga-Sangha for the first night at Sangha Lodge. If time permits we will venture out in the afternoon to explore the forest, followed by a short afternoon sundowner cruise on the Sangha River. Day 2 Today, after breakfast, you will head down to Bai Hokou where you will spend time tracking a group of western lowland gorillas. Dzanga-Sangha Special Reserve and its neighbours in Congo's Nouabale-Ndoki and Odzala-Kokoua National Parks are the only places in the world where you can find habituated lowland gorillas. Day 3 After a hearty breakfast, it's time to visit Dzanga Bai! This large clearing in the middle of the rainforest is where forest elephants gather in large numbers to indulge in drinking the mineral-rich waters that bubble across the clearing. The interaction between so many different groups of forest elephants is riveting and there's always the possibility of seeing some of the other normally shy forest creature like bongo, giant forest hog, red river hog, sitatunga and forest buffalos as well as exceptional birdlife. Day 4 Enjoy breakfast overlooking the Sangha River before heading out with a group of Ba’aka net hunters as they go about their daily hunter-gatherer lifestyle. It's both fascinating and a joy in itself to see how well-adapted and comfortable the Ba’aka are in the forest. You will be shown several of their medicinal plants while the hunt goes along in the background, and the excited cheers will alert us if they do catch something. Please note that this activity is not contrived. The hunters are there to catch their food so some animals may be killed. Day 5 Following breakfast you will head upriver by boat and hike to a series of waterfalls in the area. The hike takes you through the best examples of prime rainforest in Africa. Apart from the amazingly beautiful waterfalls, you will also see some of the most spectacular trees imaginable. Climbing to the top of the falls will provide vistas over the canopy of the forest, while the possibility of seeing the extremely rare and endangered Red-Headed Picathartes (also known as the Grey-Necked Rock Fowl) will excite any birders. In the evening after dinner you may do a night walk near the lodge with the hope of finding some of the more elusive nocturnal animals such as potto, Thomas’s galago, tree pangolin, African palm civet, Frazer’s Eagle Owl and the Vermiculated Fishing Owl. Day 6 It's back into the park today with picnic lunches where you will do a walk around a series of clearings in the forest. The chance of finding buffalos, elephants and several monkey species on this trek are good. You will also visit a group of habituated agile mangabey monkeys and spend some time photographing their interesting antics. This group of habituated monkeys has more than 150 members and their fascinating behaviour is part of a long term study in the region. Day 7 Today is a leisure day where you can either relax in and around the lodge or indulge in some optional activities, perhaps revisiting Dzanga Bai or the gorillas, or, alternatively, walking along the several trails we have laid out in the forest around the lodge. Please note that optional activities are not included in the itinerary price and will be for your own account. Day 8 Today after breakfast you will be drive to the airstrip to take a charter back to Bangui where the itinerary ends.

Located 130 kilometers (90 miles) from Kinshasa, Zongo Park provides a lovely setting & a spectacular scenery to the Zongo Waterfalls. The gorgeous 65m-high Zongo falls are one of DRC’s most spectacular sights. It takes 3 to 4 hours to reach Kisantu in the Bas Congo where the waterfall is located. Getting to the viewpoints involves some hiking, but watching the water roaring over the precipice into the river below is unforgettable. What makes Zongo waterfalls unique is the water vapor that rises to the sky when the river water hits the ground. If in dry season, you might go to the beach located 10 km away from the waterfall, there you could experience the massage waterfall. The Bonobos are our closest living relatives, with more than 99% identical DNA, are protected in a special preserve right outside Kinshasa. The sanctuary is surrounded by the rainforest and has a lake inside. Just as you enter the sanctuary, you will be brought to the briefing room. The visit is done in groups, the first group starts at 10 am. The others are done after an interval of 1h30’ up to 4 o’clock when the final group is supposed to end the last visit. Traveling with a local guide, you'll learn the stories behind each place you see, from the National Museum to Kabila's Mausoleum and the Place of Independence. Parc de la vallée de la N’Sele is a park located in the western part of the Democratic Republic of Congo in the commune of Maluku. It is approximately 90 min from the city center Kinshasa. Not only it does offer conservation but it also provides a space for relaxation and entertainment. The park offers tourists fresh and pure air. It is being populated with more and more animals representing the biodiversity of the Congo. It contains: lions, impalas, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, hippos, rhinos, elephants. In addition there are a lot of activities around the park. Cycling, kayaking, hiking or riding the Zip line. For the moment, the herbivores live in freedom. Lions, crocodiles, monitor lizards are in an enclosure. Ultimately, all animals should be released from enclosures to live in freedom. Day o1: Welcome to Kigali The capital of Rwanda since it gained independence in 1962. Most associate Rwanda with the horrific genocide that took place in 1994, but this is a country that has been striving to rebuild its economy for years and offers so much to the intrepid traveller. And though the past won't, and shouldn't, be forgotten, the future of Rwanda's tourism is looking bright thanks to its welcoming people, an abundance of lakes and the beautiful Virunga Mountains. Your adventure begins by meeting your fellow travellers and local leader at 6pm. Day 02: Musanze After breakfast this morning, your tour leader will take you to the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre, which opened in 2004 to mark the 10th commemoration of the genocide against the Tutsi people. It serves as a museum detailing the history and consequences of Rwanda's genocide and a place for people to grieve for lost friends and family. This afternoon, you’ll drive to Musanze – the gateway to Volcanoes National Park, home to gorillas and golden monkeys. This afternoon, you'll visit The Gorilla Doctors headquaters; the only organisation in the world dedicated to saving the mountain and eastern lowland (Grauer’s) gorilla species one gorilla patient at a time using veterinary medicine and science. They monitor the health of gorilla groups to ensure the early detection of disease and injury, and stage medical interventions when gorillas suffer from human-induced or life-threatening trauma or disease. Day 03: Musanze Today, you’ll visit the The Ellen DeGeneres Campus of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund. This research centre leads the world in protecting and studying gorillas while helping communities build their conservation capabilities. Learn about Dian Fossey’s life and the conservation of endangered mountain gorillas in Rwanda. Day 04 : Queen Elizabeth National Park. Today, you’ll leave Rwanda as we cross the border into Uganda, making our way to Queen Elizabeth National Park. This park is home to 618 bird species, 10 species of primates - including chimpanzees, and 95 different types of mammals. The route to your accommodation may feel like an unofficial safari. Keep a look out for African elephants, buffalo, hippos, warthogs, Nile crocodiles, leopards, spotted hyenas, lions and chimpanzees. Tonight, stay in a simple safari lodge within the park overlooking the Kazinga Channel. There are heaps of optional activities to do in Musanze, including Golden Monkey Trekking in the Virunga Mountains, the Mount Bisoke trek, or keep it chill with a canoe ride on the Mukungwa River. Maybe visit Redrocks Rwanda, where you’ll learn about the local banana beer production and be treated to some dancing, drumming and basket-weaving demonstrations. Day 05 : Queen Elizabeth NP Wake up for another exciting day in Queen Elizabeth National Park with another 4x4 Game Drive. Be on the lookout for any sightings you may have missed yesterday, and if you’re really lucky, you might be able to spot leopards or lions. This afternoon, you have the opportunity to see the park from a different perspective with an optional cruise down the Kazinga Channel, linking Lake Edward to Lake George. You’ll be joined by local guides who will fill you in on everything you could want to know about the landscape and the animals who live within it – be on the lookout for hippos basking on the shore, as well as crocodiles, herds of elephants and abundant birdlife. Day 06 : Queen Elizabeth This morning we make our way to Ishasha, the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Here you meet some local residents to learn more about rural life in Uganda. Visit a local organic farm, medicine garden and homestead and learn how its owner is tackling human-wildlife conflict with his anti-crop raiding techniques. You’ll also meet a local Mukiga woman who will share her story while showing you how to sort, pound and grind millet to make porridge and other Bakiga meals. This part of the park is famous for its tree climbing lions, so be on the lookout as you make the game drive towards our ecolodge in the northern sector of the park frequented by herds of elephants, buffaloes and antelopes! Day 07: Kisoro Today, drive out of the Queen Elizabeth National Park on your way to the southwest tip of Uganda (approximately 6 hours). The journey is like a game drive in itself, with the chance to spot zebras, antelopes, baboons and monkeys out the window. When you arrive at the corner of Uganda, where the border touches Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, you’ll be based in Kisoro, which provides access to seven different gorilla groups located in Mgahinga, Nkuringo, Rushaga and Nshongi. Day 08: Kisoro Gorilla Treaking Join a local guide and trackers as you climb through the rugged, mountainous terrain of Bwindi National Park in search of mountain gorillas. A quick lock of eyes with these creatures is a truly primal moment and visits are strictly controlled to minimise disturbance. Make no mistake, tracking gorillas is no walk in the park – it's called Bwinidi Impenetrable National Park for a reason. It can be wet, muddy, strenuous and uncomfortable, but the indescribable elation at coming across a group of gorillas is worth the effort. Spend a mesmerising hour with the gorillas as they eat, sleep, groom and play as the male silverback watches over them, then return to the lodge for dinner and to reflect on this incredible experience. Special information Visits are strictly controlled to reduce possible negative impacts on gorilla health and behaviour. A surgical face mask must be worn while within proximity of the gorillas to minimize the risk of disease transmission. Don’t forget to carry your rain gear, packed lunch, plenty of water, gloves, hat, and waterproof bag for protection of your camera in case of rain You will be provided with a walking stick and the option to hire a porter who can carry your day pack and assist you on the trek. It costs 20 USD to hire a porter, plus an optional tip. Hiring a porter not only makes your trek easier but also encourages local communities to embrace gorilla conservation and tourism. Some porters are ex-poachers who now recognize the value in gorilla conservation practices. Day 09 : Nairobi After breakfast this morning, it’s time to make the journey back to Kigali (approximately 4 hours). You will be dropped off at Kigali Airport for your short flight to Nairobi this evening (approximately 1.5hrs). On arrival at Nairobi Airport you will be met and transferred to your Nairobi hotel. Check-in, freshen up and get a good night’s rest before meeting your group in the morning. Special information Due to limited flight options you will not arrive at your Nairobi hotel in time to join the welcome meeting this evening.Your leader will leave a note at reception with their details and information on the following day. Petty theft is common in Nairobi. As a general rule, the safest place for your valuables is on your person in a neck wallet or money belt. Your hotel room or reception may also have a safe in which to store things. If you do decide to go exploring, make sure you get local advice on where it is and isn't safe to walk – particularly for later in the day. Be careful not to leave bags unattended on chairs or the floor when you're in a bar or restaurant. Without being paranoid, appearing vigilant is a great deterrence to would-be thieves. Also, make scans of important travel documents and email them to yourself – this will save you hours of time in paperwork if anything does happen. Day 10 : Masai Mara National Reserve Transfer from Nairobi to the famous Masai Mara, one of the best game reserves in all of Africa. On the way you'll stop in Loita Hills, a remote region that's home to the traditional Maasai people. This is one of the key places where the Maasai people still practice their traditional way of life, with little influence from the western world. Make a stop at Tepesua Village, which is known for championing Maasai women’s health and education. You’ll be welcomed by Maasai Warriors by way of traditional song and dance. Meet your Maasai hosts and enjoy a fascinating talk, full of insights into this remarkable and ancient culture. Take a walk to the community village which was founded for widows who had lost their cows due to drought, and can never remarry. The village offers support, safety and economic growth through the ‘Tepesua Widows Income Project’. Here the women are engaged in making handicrafts and sewing eco-friendly handbags, washable sanitary pads, and backpacks to sell to visiting travellers and locals. Learn about village life and be shown around a traditional Maasai home, and their cattle enclosures. Continue to the outskirts of the Masai Mara, where your permanent tented camp can be found. Day 11 : Masai Mara National Reserve Explore the Masai Mara in 4WD safari vehicles with game drives in both the morning and the afternoon. This is the quintessential African experience and with sparse open plains, dramatic skies and some of the world's most impressive animals, one you won't soon forget. Keep your eyes peeled for wildebeest, lions, leopards, antelope and giraffes, to name but a few. Special information An optional balloon ride over the Mara at sunrise is well worth considering. If you have pre-booked this activity (see the 'Important Notes' section) you will be picked up before dawn and driven to the launch site for a safety briefing from your pilot. Then you will glide through the dawn, sometimes at tree height, which provides amazing photo opportunities. Sometimes you will ascend, getting an overview of the enormity of the plains and the early morning movements of the teeming herds. After landing, you'll be treated to a bush breakfast, then be returned to your campsite to meet up with your group. Day 12: Lake Victoria Prepare for a long travel day as you head towards the border separating Kenya and Tanzania, then on to the small town of Musoma on the shores of Lake Victoria. Not only is this the largest lake in Africa, it's also the largest tropical lake in the entire world and shares its shores with Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. The next three days will be spent in the wilderness, so make the most of your afternoon and evening by stocking up at the local market, grabbing cash from the town's ATM and kicking back with a cold drink as the sun goes down. Day 13: Serengeti National Park Travel on from Lake Victoria to Serengeti National Park and enjoy a picnic lunch at the entrance to the famous expanse. Continue to your campsite on your first Serengeti game drive in your overland vehicle, keeping an eye out for the hoofed animals and predators that call this place home. Tonight you'll have a true African safari experience, camping in an unfenced site within the national park, right in the heart of the animal action. Your leader will give you a full safety briefing once you arrive. Day 14: Serengeti National Park Wake to another glorious day in the Serengeti. Start the day with an early morning overland vehicle game drive to search for animals when they're at their most active, then return to the campsite for a relaxed brunch. Spend the hottest part of the day relaxing in camp – don't stress, the animals will be doing the same – then head off again in the afternoon for another drive through the park. Return to the campsite for dinner and another night under the Serengeti's stars. Note: there's also an option of an early hot air balloon ride here. Please ask your leader at the start of your trip if you're interested. Day 15: Karatu Enjoy a final game drive through the Serengeti as you exit the park this morning and cross over to the Ngorongoro Conservation area where you'll descend to the Ngorongoro's crater floor for a 4WD excursion. If all goes to plan, you'll see some or maybe even all of the Big Five animals that reside here and better yet, the vehicle has an open roof so you can really feel like a part of the action. The animals here are less wary of humans and vehicles and as a result it's easier to watch them from up close. Take in the spectacular views from the rim of the crater as you make your way to the bottom, where animals roam the lakes, rivers, woodlands and hills. Keep an eye out for wildebeest, lion, zebra, cheetah, buffalo, gazelle and the endangered black rhino, as well as the colorfully dressed Maasai people who often water their cattle at the lake here. In the afternoon, we leave the Ngorongoro Crater and drive to Karatu, a small town on its outskirts and your base for the next two nights. Day 16: Karatu After breakfast this morning, you’ll make your way to Lake Eyasi, a huge seasonal soda lake. Lake Eyasi has been home to the Hadzabe people for more than 10,000 years and is one of the few places in Africa where traditional tribal life continues without modern influence. Today’s visit to the Hadzabe lands offers incredible insight into this ancient culture and a chance to learn about their way of life today. You’ll have the opportunity to meet members of the community and join in on daily activities like hunting, gathering and traditional dance. You’ll also learn about their unique ‘click’ language, which is thought to be one of the oldest languages still in use today. Return to your lodge in Karatu later in the day for a chance to put your feet up and relax. Day 17: Arusha Today is a free day to relax or choose from the various optional activities available from your base in Karatu. You might like to head to a local coffee plantation or take a Game Drive in Lake Manyara National Park. Perhaps opt for a hike through the Ngorongoro Reserve Forest to Elephant Caves accompanied by an expert local guide and armed ranger. It's the perfect way to stretch your legs after a few days of overland travel. You'll hike through the Ngorongoro rainforest as your local guide explains the ins and outs of the area here and points out interesting animal tracks and footprints. Marvel at the wild landscape and spot beautiful birdlife as you walk. In the afternoon, we head to Arusha, where we will spend our last night. São Tomé and Príncipe
Day 1 – São Tomé Arrive at your convenience into São Tomé – the capital city of São Tomé and Principe which has regular flights between Angola, Portugal, and Ghana. Go to Tamarindos or Tortue Ecolodge beach to relax. Overnight stay in São Tomé. Day 2 – São Tomé – São João dos Angolares – Pico Grande We begin our road trip to the most southern part of the island stopping at an abandoned hospital of Roca Agua Ize. This hospital used to be one of the best hospitals in western Africa and was built for the workers at the Roca Agua Ize plantation. Located nearby the plantation is the seaside cliff Boca de Inferno (Hell’s Mouth). We’ll make a short stop in São João dos Angolares. This is the largest town on the southern part of the island. Explore Cascata De Praia Pesqueria, a magnificent waterfall. Highlight: The most famous landmark of São Tomé & Principe is the Pico de Cao Grande. This mountain is 663 meters tall and visible all over the island. We relax for a moment at Grande Beach and take in the Atlantic. Overnight stay in São Tomé. Day 3 – São Tomé – Porto Alegre – Rolas Island Visit the Post Office, the perfect place to send a unique post card back home! 2- Drive to Porto Alegre. Stop by an old rusty tank. Highlight: We board a boat for a 20 minute journey to Rolas Island. This island is where the equator crosses through Sao Tomé & Principe. Return drive to São Tomé. Overnight stay in São Tomé. Day 4 – São Tomé – Vila Malanza Start our day with a drive to the mangroves near Vila Malanza. Highlight: Take a boat tour through the largest mangrove reserve in São Tomé and Príncipe. It is home to diverse wildlife, including unique bird species. Overnight stay in São Tomé. Day 5 – São Tomé This morning we move to a different hotel, this time we go back to the main town of the island. Visit to the National Museum. Here you can find religious art and colonial-era artifacts. Highlight: The Diogo Vaz Shopping. Here you can taste incredibly unique chocolate such as chocolate with grapes macerated in cocoa alcohol, ginger, orange, pepper and coffee, as well as 100% dark chocolate. Time to relax! For example: You can go to Tortue Ecolodge beach or explore a bit of the downtown on your own. It’s all up to you. Overnight stay in São Tomé. Day 6 – São Tomé Take a city tour in São Tomé. Our first stop is the Coffee Museum. São Tomé is famous for its coffee plantations, which began in 1780. Highlight: Begin our sightseeing of one of the oldest colonial capitals in Africa by exploring Independence Square – signifying independence gained in 1975. Explore the traditional, new and fish markets of São Tomé, a perfect way to learn more about this small nation. See the Presidential Palace from outside. This unique pink 19th century Portuguese Colonial style structure houses the current president. Stop by the São Tomé Cathedral. The first church of Our Lady of Grace was built at the end of the fifteenth century. Overnight stay in São Tomé. Day 7 – São Tomé – Roca Agostinho Neto – Santa Catarina Drive to Northern São Tomé stopping by the village of Roca Agostinho Neto – named after the first president of Angola: Agostinho Neto. Highlight: We visit the largest plantation in the country, which used to be the biggest cocoa producer. Nowadays the plantation is partly working and families relocated to live on the plantation. Continue towards the Atlantic with a stop at the Blue Lagoon Beach. It sounds as exotic as it is! We continue our drive to Lagao Azul. This is the most northern point of the country and can only be reached via the Santa Catarina Tunnel (the only tunnel in Sao Tomé and Principe). Explore the fishing village of Santa Catarina. Return to the capital and stop by the Monte Café Plantation, one of the most famous coffee plantations on the island. Return to São Tomé. Overnight stay in São Tomé. Day 1 Arrival - Malabo Upon arrival at SSG airport, you’ll be welcomed by our representative. Our team will provide airport assistance, baggage clearance, and, later on, transferred to your Hotel. After hotel check-in, a short briefing with the guide to fine-tune details of Equatorial Guinea’s next days. Dinner and night at Yoli Hotel Day 2 Malabo City Tour After breakfast, we’ll drive through the beautiful city of Malabo. We visit the cathedral, a gothic-styled built architecture that Luis Saegarra Llairado designed. Next to the cathedral is the presidential palace with its numerous military installations and personnel. Please note pictures are not in Equatorial Guinea!! We also stop at the central market to witness a typical colourful market in the African ambience. Another exciting highlight includes the City Hall, the fantastic architecture of numerous Spanish buildings and much more. After visiting the old part and the new part of Malabo, we drive back to the Hotel for lunch. And in the first hours of the afternoon, we go for an excursion to the village of Ureca that stretches south of Malabo (35km). Highlight around Ureca includes a visit to the small town, the Eola waterfalls, and a beach walk along the Moraka beach where it is possible to spot marine turtle laying their eggs on the beach in the night. In the evening, we drive back to Malabo for the night. Day 3 Malabo- Bata We leave the Hotel this day after breakfast and head on for the airport for the morning flight to the mainland part of the country, Bata. After a 20min flight, we attain Bata airport from where our local guide will transfer you to the Hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, we undergo a sightseeing tour of Bata, where and visit the clock square, the cathedral, the vibrant and colorful market, the mosque, and the central avenues. Time permitting, we may go to the seafront in Bomé for a beach walk in the afternoon before returning to the Ibis Hotel for the overnight and dinner Day 4 Bata – Mongomo – Oyala After breakfast, we leave Bata for Mongomo, which we attain three hours later. The road to Mongomo takes us across picturesque habitats and villages along the road bank with long patches of thick rainforest all through the distance. Upon arrival, we transfer to the Akoakam hotel for lunch and afterward depart for a P.M sightseeing tour of Mongomo. Mongomo is the hometown of E. G’s first president, uncle to the current one. The Fang ethnic tribe inhabits it. With its more than seven thousand people, Mongomo is privileged for receiving president during long weekends. The town itself has less to offer if not for the beautiful stadium which hosted the 2015 African Cup Of Nations. The newly built cathedral – a reduced copy of St Paul’s Cathedral in the Vatican- The center that boasts a stela in respect of the national history with the bust of the three leaders of the country: Bonifacio Ondo (Former head of internal autonomy during the Spanish reign), Francisco Masias the shot dictator and of course the current president Teodoro Obiang. Through picturesque habitats and villages along the road bank, we leave Mongomo in the afternoon and drive across long patches of thick rainforest and back to Oyala. Overnight at Djibloho Hotel. Day 5 Oyala – Bata - Departure In the morning, we visit Oyala, a futuristic city that is soon to become the capital of Equatorial Guinea. Settled in the middle of the jungle, Oyala, also known as ‘the city to peace’, is a vast field under heaps of construction work. We will visit some gigantic buildings that will serve as government offices, hotels, supermarkets and others. We then leave for Bata, which we attain in the early afternoon after stopping at Anisok for a quick visit. From Bata, we catch the domestic flight to Malabo airport for check-in for the connecting flight back home.

Day 2; Gorilla tracking Very early in the morning at around 6 am have breakfast and then head to the park headquarters at Kinigi with packed lunch for briefing and to be assigned the specific group to track. Tracking can take about two to four hours depending on the type of group you are going to track. In the evening after relaxing a bit head to Muko village which is the home of the Ndifatanye Momahoro association, a collection of seven women who show travelers how baskets are woven and banana beer fermented. Upon reaching check-in at Semliki safari lodge. From there, go for the walking trail (red monkey trail) which ends at the Semliki river that forms the border between Uganda and Congo. Dinner and overnight at Semliki safari lodge. Day 7; Semliki to Kibale Forest National Park After breakfast at the lodge, the guide will take you to Semliki hot springs. (steamy sulphure hot springs) they are two where the female is more accessible than two and where the women from the Bamaga clan would make sacrifices to the gods before bathing naked in the natural springs. Your guide can demonstrate the temperature of the water by boiling an egg. The male hot spring is where the men carried out their sacrificial rituals and it is accessed via a muddy forest trail with plenty of primates and birdlife along the way. From here the guide will drive to Kibale Forest National Park and have a stopover in Fort Portal for lunch. Dinner and overnight at Kyaninga Lodge/Mountain of the Moon Hotel/Kibale Forest Camp. Day 8; Kibale Chimpanzees Tracking Early in the morning, after breakfast at the camp, continue chimpanzee tracking in the forest. At Kibale forest, there is 90% of finding these unique relatives of ours and it is the most popular place for chimpanzee tracking in Uganda, here though there are plenty of hills, walking isn’t difficult if you are in shape. Lunch, in the evening, go for bird watching at Bigodi wetland sanctuary. This starts from the visitor center at Kanyanchu. Bigodi is home to about 200 species of birds as well as butterflies and eight different species of primates including the grey-cheeked Mangabey all these if lucky might be seen along the trail. In the morning after breakfast from the camp, the driver will drive to Murchison falls national park. You will have a stopover at Masindi for lunch and proceed. Day 10; Murchison Falls National Park Early in the morning, after breakfast at the camp, the guide will take you for a game drive at Biligi area on the point between Albert and Victoria Niles. Here chances of spitting lions and leopards are quite good. From there, return to the camp for lunch. In the evening, proceed for the launch cruise where abundant hippos, crocodiles and buffaloes, and thousands of birds including many fish eagles can be seen. After the cruise, continue to the top of the fall which is the most spectacular thing to happen to the Nile along its 6700km length. The 50 m river is squeezed through this narrow gorge with unbelievable power. Dinner and overnight as above. Day 11; Game Drives Early in the morning, after breakfast, go for a walking trail from the top to bottom of the river the upper stretch of this path offers views of Uhuru falls which the boat is not able to get close enough to appreciate, so the trail will give the complete Murchison falls experience. Return to a red chill rest camp for lunch. In the evening after relaxing, go for nature walks along the north bank of the Nile by Paraa safari lodge. It is popular with birds like a white-napped pigeons. Dinner and overnight as above. Murchison falls national park, Uganda Murchison falls national park, Uganda Day 12; Murchison to Kampala In the morning, after breakfast, the guide will take and visit the Bomu women’s group just before the Kanchumbanyobo gate. This small setup, offers a chance to learn how rural Ugandans live, their meals, souvenirs like baskets, and others. From here the driver will drive you back to Kampala having a stopover in Masindi for lunch. Dinner and overnight at Serena Hotel/Cassia Lodge/New Madagascar Hotel. Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport You will meet and greet with your guide at Entebbe International airport who will then transfer you to the lodge where you are to spend the night. You will just check in and have some rest from the long journey as you prepare to start the fan 14 days of birding in Uganda. Day 2: Full Day Birding at Mabamba Swamp Have breakfast and head out for shoe bill watching at Mabamba swamp. Shoe bill is a well sought after water bird that is easily found in Mabamba wetland. The guide will drive you to Mabamba and bring you back in the evening. Birding in Mabamba is done on the local canoes and you get to spot several other bird species as you search for the shoebill. Day 3: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park Today you have an early breakfast and start the journey to Murchison falls national park. This is Uganda’s largest national park with over 70 mammal species including the lions. On the journey you will have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary to trek the Rhinos and have a very close encounter with these huge land mammals. From here proceed to the park, arriving in the late afternoon for check in, dinner and overnight. Day 4: Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise After breakfast, you will head out for an early morning drive that is to expose you to numerous wildlife species. From lions, buffaloes, elephants, oribis, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, warthogs to duikers and many more, nothing you will fail to see. On the drive you will also be spotting several bird species since Murchison Falls is a home of a number of them. The afternoon is for a boat cruise on the Victoria Nile, here you will see schools of hippos, crocodiles and some wild animals that come along for drinking water in the afternoon. The Nile also has several bird species for you to spot. In the evening, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Day 5: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park Today is a transfer day, have breakfast in the morning and start the journey to Kibale forest national park. This is the world’s primate capital because of the so many primates that reside here. It’s one of the important birding spots you can’t miss on any birding safari in Uganda. Lunch will be in Hoima city and proceed to the lodge in Kibale. Arrival is in the evening for check in, dinner and overnight. Day 6: Morning Birding Session and Afternoon Chimpanzee Tracking Have breakfast then go for an early morning birding session in the forest in search for the Pitta. On this search you will still spot several other bird species since Kibale is a home to more than 200 bird species. You will later come back to the lodge for lunch and then transfer to Kanyanchu starting point to go through briefing for the afternoon chimpanzee tracking process, the dos and don’ts while tracking the chimps. You will have a chance to see the chimpanzees carrying on their daily lives like feeding, copulating, hunting, breastfeeding, resting, patrolling and displaying. Day 7: Transfer to Semliki and Full Day Birding This day is for a full day birding experience at Semliki National park. In the morning after breakfast, the drive guide drives you to Semliki. You will do birding along the Kurumia trail in the park and other trails. This s one spot that even homes species endangered to the Albertine region. You will visit the Sempaya Hot springs and then drive back to Kibale at the lodge to dinner and overnight. Day 8: Bigodi Swamp Walk and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park Have breakfast in the morning and then go for the Bigodi Swamp walk where you will be able to see a lot of bird life around the Bigodi swamp. You will have lunch and later transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. You will check-in to the hotel and relax to the beautiful views of Lake Munyanyange filled with Flamingos. Day 9: Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise After an early breakfast, head out for a morning game drive for sights of different wildlife species like buffaloes, oribis, waterbucks, warthogs, topi, hyenas, uganda kobs, elephants and so many others. Queen Elizabeth national park is a home to some bird species that you will spot along the drive. Having had a palatable lunch, then go for a boat cruise on Kazinga channel that joins Lake Edward and Lake George. Over 40 bird species reside here and you will be able to spot some as you enjoy the beautiful scenery. In the evening you return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Day 10: Transfer to Ruhija Via Ishasha You will have breakfast and then transfer to Ruhija sector of Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. The journey goes through the Ishasha sector famously known for the tree climbing lions, as you drive through, you will spot some lions lying in the tree branches. You will have several stop overs at your convenience, for photos of bird species and other things you find interesting along the way. Arriving at the lodge is in the evening for dinner and overnight. Day 11: Gorilla Tracking Community Walk You will have an early morning breakfast, head to the park headquarters with your packed lunch for briefing, orientation and meeting the guides about the dos and don’ts while tracking the gorillas, you will then be partitioned into groups depending on which gorilla family given. Bwindi forest harbors the biggest number of mountain gorillas in the world. It’s almost everyone’s dream to see the great apes in their natural home. After finding the great apes and spending an hour with them, you will get back to the park headquarters for your certificates and continue back to the lodge for lunch and afternoon nature walk in the community. Day 12: Transfer to Mgahinga National Park Today is a transfer day, in the morning after breakfast, start the journey to Mgahinga national park. This is Uganda’s smallest national park but homing several bird species. Arrival is in the afternoon for lunch and some relaxation. Day 13: Birding in Mgahinga National Park You will have breakfast and then do birding the whole day in Mgahinga national park. You will spot several forest birds like the African Paradise Flycatcher, black kite, cape robin chat, pin tailed whydah, speckled mousebird and so many others. Day 14: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park After breakfast, transfer to Lake Mburo national park. It is the smallest savannah park with a lot of wildlife to behold. You will check in at the lodge, have lunch, rest and then go for an evening game drive that will furnish opportunities for sights of zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, waterbucks and several others. Gondar is best-known for its collection of 17th century castles and palaces. Spend the day exploring the Royal Enclosure and its buildings. The fortress, which is surrounded by a 300-foot-long wall, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The oldest and most impressive structure in the compound is the two-story palace of Emperor Fasilidas, built of solid basalt stones. Other royal buildings of interest include the library of Emperor Yohannes I, the House of Song where royal ceremonies took place, the elegant reception and banquet hall of Emperor Bakaffa, and the palace of the king's wife. Also visit the nearby bath of King Fasiledes, where modern-day Timkat ceremonies are performed. Finally, view the Church of Debre Birhan Selassie, an imposing structure with brightly coloured ceilings. You will probably want a quick lunch in one of the local 'hotels' - enjara and wot.At Werkhaye villagers from Mequat Mariam will await you with a donkey to carry your bags. From here you trek across the plateau following well-worn paths (often bolder strewn) through the agricultural landscape of the highlands. Little boys and girls watch their sheep,cattle, horses and donkeys. Older girls can be seen fetching water from springs along the way, and the men ploughing fields with oxen, engaging in harvesting activities or other agricultural work depending on the time of year and day of the month (on saints days it is forbidden to engage in many activities).At the newly renovated church of Hanna Mequat, with acacia trees dotted around the church compound, you will get a glimpse of the escarpment edge that will be with you for much of the trip. Beyond the church you will join it and follow it round to the tukuls at Mequat Mariam. The walk time is about 3 hours plus stops. The staff - all members of the local villages - will meet you and serve snacks - perhaps a 'Meket Pizza' with tea or coffee, or perhaps you will be ready for a beer. As you enjoy this you can watch the birds soaring on the thermals - ravens, the odd vulture, perhaps a lammergeyer, and innumerable others. There is a shower, with water warmed by the sun - though do go a bit easy on the water. Don't miss the sunset on the 'rock bar' with a sundowner drink.The community will serve a good meal - simple western food - after dark in the dining tukul, and if you would like will prepare a traditional Ethiopian style coffee ceremony. The community has built especially designed tukuls bedrooms - traditional style with thatched roof, and stone walls. However the beds are comfortable mattresses, with clean bed linen and blankets. Day 7: Tesfa Walking Tour Day Two Walking (easy grade) time: 2/3 hours in the morning, 2/3 hours in the afternoon.A breakfast of either eggs or pancakes, with tea or coffee will get you ready for a good days walk. The walk from Mequat Mariam to Wajela winds along the escarpment for much of the way with staggering views of the river systems and farmland below. There is a good chance to see gelada baboon along these escarpments, and if you are lucky rock hyrax, even a klipspringer.After a few hours the Mequat community hand over to the Wajela community - a fresh donkey for the luggage. Here you can eat a simple picnic lunch, maybe with a soft drink carried by one of the community. Some of the route cuts across the plateau top and there are some shortcuts if you want to reduce the walking, but if you feel fit much of the time you can follow the escarpment edge.Towards the middle of the afternoon, you will reach the church of Kura Anbessa Giyorgis, perched on the rock edge, with Olive (OliaAfricanus) and other indigenous trees around. Kura means crow aven and Anbessa Lion! If you meet one of the priests ask for an explanation of the name. It is possible to take another route and come across the carpet weavers, but there is no time to do this and the church.After Kura Anbessa you cross the road and head north across the plateau to the Wajela site. Again a warm welcome and snacks will await you at Wajela with its cosy tukuls overlooking a wooded escarpment. If you are early there is a 2-hour round trip to a church and cave structure below. You can also rinse off in the shower. Dinner as in Mequat is served in the dining tukul, sometime after sunset. Day 8: Drive To Lalibella, Visit Nakuto Leab Church Drive: Tesfa Trekking to LalibellaDistance: 110 KmETD: 2hrs. And 30 Min.Road Type: Asphalt [steep road], [2Km Gravel road]Trekking: 2hrs. Lalibela is arguably one of the most important religious and historical sites in all of Africa and the entire Christian world. There are no less than 200 churches in the Lasta Region of Lalibela, some hidden in enormous caves, but it's exceptional to find 11 churches of such master craftsmanship in one locale. These brilliant feats of engineering and architecture are often referred to as the "Eighth wonder of the world". The churches are said to have been constructed during King Lalibela’s reign during the 12th and 13th centuries when Lalibela (then known as Roha) was the capital of the Zagwe dynasty.On the way to Lalibella, Visit Nakuto Leab Church, Situated around 7km from central Lalibela, the Na’akuto La‘ab Monastery is found inside a natural cavern in the highlands surrounding the town. The church of Yemrehanna Kristos is one of Ethiopia's best-preserved late Axumite churches, and is named for a twelfth-century Zagwe priest-king and saint. It is set in a spectacular landscape of juniper trees located inside a large natural cavern on a hill in northern Ethiopia, predating the famous nearby rock-hewn churches of Lalibela by almost a century. The walls of the building were constructed with alternating layers of recessed timber beams and projecting plastered stone, and the windows are covered by carved cruciform lattices. The city served as the capital of the Kingdom of Makuria which existed from the 6th to the 14th century. In modern times, Old Dongola is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a popular destination for tourists interested in the history of the ancient Nubians. During your visit to Old Dongola, you will have the opportunity to explore the ancient city as well as its ruins and landmarks. It is possible to visit the Makuria Palace, the Coptic Church, as well as the Temple of Amun. It is also possible to visit the Old Dongola Museum, which houses a collection of artifacts from the ancient city. Following the tour of old Dongola, you will travel to Karima. It is estimated that the travel time will be two hours and thirty minutes. You will be staying at the Nubian Rest House at the foot of Jebel Barkal. The house is a charming Nubian-style building, consisting of two rooms and six beds in total. There are shared facilities and a pleasant veranda on which you can enjoy the cool starry nights. Day 02: Jebel Barkal - El Kurru - Pyramids of Nuri - Karima In this tour, you travel through some of Sudan’s most impressive historical and archaeological sites on your way to Jebel Barkal from Karima. You can expect the following. In the first place, we will visit Jebel Barkal, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located in the town of Karima. There are several temples and pyramids on this mountain, which was considered a holy place by the ancient Egyptians. You will be able to explore the ruins of the temples and climb to the top of the mountain for a stunning view of the surrounding area. The next stop is El Kurru, a small village located near Jebel Barkal that is home to some fascinating ancient tombs. Several Nubian kings and queens are believed to have resting places in these tombs, which are decorated with beautiful carvings and paintings. Also on display are the remains of a small pyramid and a temple. Our third destination is the Pyramids of Nuri, which are located a short distance from El Kurru. It is believed that several kings and queens were buried in these pyramids built by the rulers of the Kingdom of Kush. The tour will offer you the opportunity to view several well-preserved pyramids and learn about their historical significance. After your trip, you will return to Karima, where you will have the opportunity to explore the local market and interact with the friendly locals. Stay at Nubian Rest House for the night. Day 03: Karima - Pyramids of Meroe Via Bayuda Desert Following breakfast early in the morning, an exciting and adventurous tour to Meroe will depart from Karima via the Bayuda Desert. The following is the itinerary for the trip. In order to reach Meroe, we must drive through the Bayuda Desert, an expansive, rugged landscape with rocky terrain and scattered vegetation. During your drive through the desert, you will be able to observe the local wildlife and enjoy the breathtaking scenery. You will pass through small villages that are inhabited by the Bayuda people along your journey. If you are lucky, you may even be invited to join them for tea or dinner by these friendly and hospitable people. After several hours of driving, you will finally arrive at the Pyramids of Meroe, one of Sudan’s most famous and impressive archaeological sites. The pyramids date back to the Kingdom of Kush, which ruled Sudan between the 8th and fourth centuries BC. Take the opportunity to explore the Pyramids of Meroe and learn about the history of the Kingdom of Kush while you are there. Several of the pyramids can be climbed to enjoy a breathtaking view of the landscape surrounding them. Spend the night at the Meroe camp site or in an outdoor tent. Day 04: Meroe - Naga and Mussawarat - Khartoum Visit the sites of Naga and Mussawarat in the morning, approximately one hour and thirty minutes of travel time from Meroe Pyramids. Naga is one of two centers that developed during the Meroitic period. In Naga, in a typical Saharan environment with rocks and sand, we discover a temple dedicated to Apedemak (1st century A.D.). This magnificent building is decorated with bas-reliefs that depict the god with a lion’s head, the Pharaoh, noblemen, and several ritual images. Several metres away is a small and curious structure with arches and columns, named “kiosk”, in which we can distinguish Egyptian, Roman, and Greek styles at the same time. Another temple dedicated to Amon is not far away, with many statues of rams and beautifully decorated gates. After that, we will continue to Mussawarat, not far from Naga. Settlements in this area are situated in beautiful valleys surrounded by hills. In this area, the ruins of a very large temple can be seen; it once played a very significant role in the community. One of its most notable features is the “Great Enclosure”, a complex of constructions and boundary walls surrounding a temple constructed during the 1st century A.D. These walls depict a large number of elephants that indicate this animal played a significant role in the area’s history. In the vicinity of the big wadi, there is another temple dedicated to Apedemak – restored by a German archaeological mission. After an enjoyable day in Naga and Mussawarat, transfer to Khartoum is scheduled. Approximately three hours are required to travel between Naga and Mussawarat and Khartoum. Overnight in Khartoum at New Flower hotel. Day 05: Khartoum city tour & Surroundings Tour of Khartoum & Surroundings starting in the morning, including Khartoum city tour, Jabal Auliya, and Omdurman: Visit Jabal Auliya, a hill located approximately 15 km east of Khartoum, to begin your day. There are breathtaking views of the city and the Nile River from this location. There are two ways to reach the top of the hill: by car or on foot (if you are feeling adventurous). Next, proceed to Khartoum, the capital of Sudan, after enjoying the views from Jabal Auliya. To gain a deeper understanding of the country’s history and culture, visit the National Museum of Sudan. Afterwards, visit the Tuti Bridge to witness the confluence of the Blue and White Niles. After lunch, proceed to Omdurman, which is located just across the Nile from Khartoum. Visit the Omdurman Souq, one of Sudan’s largest and busiest markets. Among the items available here are a variety of traditional Sudanese goods, such as textiles, pottery, spices, and more. You will then visit one of the most important Sufi shrines in Sudan, the tomb of Sheikh Hamad Al Nil. Upon completion of your tour in Omdurman, you are free to return to your hotel or to the airport if you are departing Sudan.

Sequence of events on Day (1) 06:50 am: Meet and Greet session at StayEasy Lusaka Hotel (Often times this session is done on the previous day). 07:30 am: Commencement of the tour: Thereafter all the travel formalities, you will board the tour vehicle and travel by road from Lusaka to Choma. The route of travel will be via the T-2 Kafue Road and the T-1 main Livingstone highway road. 09:50 am: After Kafue town, we will head to one of Zambian’s unique natural landmark; the Kafue River and state-of-art Kafue Road Bridge. ABOUT THE KAFUE RAIL BRIDGE!! Built in 1906, the 13 truss and 13 pillared railway bridge on the Kafue river is the second longest bridge in Zambia, the longest truss bridge in Zambia and the oldest known piece of infrastructure still in existence and in use in Lusaka province. Kafue is one of the main rivers of Zambia, the main source and water supply to the greater Lusaka city population. The tour guide will be close by to provide more detailed information on these two important landmarks. The tour vehicle will slow down on the Kafue Bridge. You will have a chance to have a closer view of the slow flowing Kafue River. Heritage site stop-over excursion: Munali Pass National Monument Along the main T-1 Livingstone tourism route, you will visit the Munali Hills Pass historic site. It is situated about 56km north of Mazabuka, a stone cairn 1km along the Munali Pass road. This monument is a commemoration of Dr. David Livingstone’s passage through the hill pass that separates the Lusaka high plateau from the Kafue Flats. Turn-Pike Turn Off: At Turn Pike junction, we will branch off from the T-2 Kafue road and turn into the T-1 Livingstone road. By the road-side, we will briefly stop-over by theside lay-bye station to buy some fresh bananas and apples. 10:20 am: Munali Hills Pass route: You will experience the true Zambian culture of this beautiful country along the way to Mazabuka. The vehicle will wind its way through beautiful landscape, passing through some green commercial farms, traditional African villages and schools along the way to Mazabuka. 11:30 am – Arrive in Mazabuka, dubbed “The Sweetest Town” in Zambia. This is because sugar canes that are processed into edible household sugar are grown on a large scale in Mazabuka. 11:40 am – Depart for Monze, the next town after Mazabuka. You will see large sugar plantations on the way out of Mazabuka town. You will pass a number of small village siding settlements along the way to Monze, approximately 72 kms from Mazabuka. 13:20 pm: Arrive in Monze: - An agriculture town, with an estimated population of 163,578 people. 13:30 pm - 15:00 pm: Visit the Samu Lya Moomba national heritage site outside Monze town in Bweengwa area, Chief CHOONGO’s chiefdom to see Zambia's deep cultural heritage. Narration (information tip): Samu Lya Moomba holds a special place in Zambia's history as it was the location some freedom fighters from across Zambia would meet to strategise on the attainment of Zambia's political independence. 13:50 pm: Eat a sumptuous lunch at the Indian Classic Food Restaurant or at any other good restaurant in Monze town. 14:00 pm: Stop over by Family Safari private animal sanctuary to view some wildlife. 14:30 pm – Depart for Choma, the provincial headquarters of southern province (97.4 kms from Monze). You will pass through small village siding along the way, namely Rusangu, Chisekesi, Pemba, Muzoka, Batoka in that order before reaching Choma (Distance is 285km from Lusaka and 188 km from Livingstone). 18:00 pm: Arrive in Choma and check-in a good tourism accommodation facility, 19:00 pm: You will take your delicious dinner at any good restaurant. 21:30 pm: Retire to sleep. Load all your personal belongings in the tour vehicle. 08:40 am: Travel to and tour the Choma Museum to learn about the history of the capital of Zambia's Southern Province . After viewing the many pieces of the collection at Choma Museum, we will depart from Choma and travel to the next town of Kalomo . See the Kalundu Mound: About 3 km before reaching Kalomo, on the main road, is a slightly raised mound (a matter of just a few metres) of earth through which the road passes. This marks the site of an Iron-Age village, and the mound is the accumulated debris of many centuries of occupation. 12:30 pm: Arrive in Kalomo town, the first colonial capital city of Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia). Narration( Historical information tip): In 1907, Kalomo became the colonial capital centre of what was then known as Northern-Western Rhodesia. In 1911 it became the capital of Northern Rhodesia, what is today called Zambia. Interesting things you will see; 1. Visit the former Colonial Administrators Residence. 2. Site visit of the first Standard Chartered Bank of North-Western Rhodesia. 15:30 pm- Proceed to Livingstone, tourist capital city of Zambia. 18:30 pm - Arrive in Livingstone and check-in at any good tourism compliant accommodation facility. Overview of Livingstone city, the tourist capital city of Zambia. Historical Fact sheet: Livingstone is the tourist capital city of Zambia and Adventure capital centre of Southern Africa. Livingstone town is named after the famous Victorian missionary explorer, Dr David Livingstone who explored this area extensively. Livingstone Town was established in 1905. As a major European settlement, being close to the Zambezi River crossing over to Southern Rhodesia, the town was made the capital of Northern Rhodesia in 1911. The capital was moved to Lusaka in 1935. A major event in 2011 was the installation of the town’s first set of traffic lights! 09: 30 pm - Eat your sumptuous dinner. Night life (Life is good, enjoy it!): Those interested in night life. You are free to go out to any night club around Livingstone city and enjoy beverages on your own cost. Arrangements will be made for your transport to and fro the night club. 23:00 am: Retire for a goodnight sleep. Day 3 From Livingstone: Full day trip to Chobe National Park in Botswana Overview of actvities on Day 3: Today, you will go on a day trip to Chobe National Park in Botswana Narration (information fact sheet tip): In 2019, Botswana was voted as the best 2019 eco-tourism safari destination in Africa. Botswana practices low impact, high value eco-tourism experiences. The Chobe National park is home to the world's largest Elephant population, amazing wildlife, and Africa's largest predators: Lions, Leopards and Wild dogs. Programs of the day (3). 05:30 am: You will be picked from your lodge/hotel in Livingstone. You will then proceed straight away to the Kazungula - Zambia/Botswana one stop border post, a distance of about 88 kms from Livingstone via M10 road. Friendly advice: Please do not carry your entire luggage from your lodge/hotel as you will return back to the same lodge/hotel on the same day at the end of the Chobe day trip. Very important information on VISA requirement entry into Botswana Following the waiver of VISA requirements for most nationals of EU countries and other overseas countries to enter Zambia, the country has become the most preferred destination for most international travelers. . As you will enter Zambia without a VISA (depending on your nationality), you will therefore apply only for a VISA to enter Botswana and Zimbabwe at the border point of entry on the day of the tour. Travel Tip! However, this does not apply for some nationalities. Other nationals are still required to apply for a VISA to enter Botswana and Zimbabwe in advance before travelling to Africa. To be on the safe side, kindly contact and consult with the nearest Botswana and Zimbabwean VISA consulate nearest to your country. 08:00 am: Arrive at the Kazungula Zambia/Botswana one stop border station Narration: You will present yourself before the immigration and customs officers of both Zambia and Botswana at the one stop border station at Kazungula on Botswana soil. This will be for the purpose of processing your exit from Zambia and entry into Botswana respectively. Travel Advice: Please carry your passport with you and sufficient USD hard currencies to pay for any border fees. If accompanied by any children with only one parent present, kindly carry a letter from the other parent not present authorizing you to travel with the child internationally. A letter with a seal of oath will carry more weight to avoid being inconvenienced and denied entry into Business. Otherwise if all your documentations are in order, you will smoothly exit Zambia and enter Botswana without any hassles. What next? You will enter Botswana. You will travel back from Hwange National park to Victoria Falls town for an activity stop-over excursion before returning back to Livingstone in Zambia. The stop-over will be for the purpose of viewing the mighty Victoria Falls for the second time around but this time around from the Zimbabwean side. Pros of viewing the mighty Victoria Falls from the Zimbabwean side. • 75% of the Falls are seen from the Zimbabwean side, with a variety of 16 viewpoints bisecting the rainforest.
